I recently started keeping my fingernails painted full-time. I don’t know why? It just seemed like the thing to do, for some reason. This gorgeous azalea in my neighbor’s yard is the exact same shade as my standard bright pink nail polish, which is hilariously called “Cherry Fashion.” Nail polish names are uniformly ridiculous.
The Southside Community Land Trust annual plant sale, held at City Farm on the “upper south side” of PVD.
Dark & Stormies on the Hot Club deck for Robyn’s 29th birthday.
Summer is so so close.
Alexandra left a lovely arrangement on the dining room table, entitled, “Things I Found on My Desk: A Study in Yellow Red & Turquoise.”
Alternate title, “New Mexico License Plate: Color as Place.”
I already put this photo on Facebook for them to see, but it fits here too. Happy 30th, parents!
Sometimes our apartment is so pretty I don’t even know what to do with myself.
A rustic dinner of grilled shrimp skewers, pasta, and wine, enjoyed in the backyard on a Sunday evening.
The last slice of a lemon-blackberry tart that AO whipped up for us.
Santigold put on one of the best performances at Coachella, rocking the main stage despite the insane 110 degree heat. NPR has her entire new album up right now, so listen to it immediately! They’ll take it down soon! Do it!
Some snaps from Coachella. Check out Jenna’s photos here. Perfect weekend.
A smattering of brilliant birthday gifts from some of my favorite people!
Hydrangea, Delirium Tremens, and G&B chocolates from Alexandra.
Heart-in-hand bottle opener and “It Had To Be You” postcard from Robyn (courtesy of Butterfield in Wayland Square).
“Squid Folk” card and awesome otter bowl from my precious Joellen.
Gorgeous scarf from Maureen (who also gave me other lovely treats).
Thanks for such a splendid birthday, everyone!
My digital birthday card from Tess, featuring a one-legged pair of tights and a new tattoo that’s a fragment of a Narragansett Beer puzzle. I occasionally consider getting a Hope Anchor tattoo, but then I remember that I’m not actually from this state, nor do I want a tattoo.
(Can you solve them all?)
Appalachian wedding weekend!
(And my birthday, of course.)
Spring is happening, as you probably know. I do love this neighborhood.
AO’s Easter basket, which is 90% candy and from which I have been sampling liberally. The Trader Joe’s Chocolate Sunflower Seed Drops (which are under the card and therefore not visible in this photo) are particularly snackable.
This is one of my promised premiums in the St. Jude fundraiser for July/August.
Thanks for the donation, castlesinspain (aka, Mackenzie!).
